Robert Zangrillo
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Robert is a veteran in the financial services and software industries and his talents for building teams dedicated to delivering leading industry solutions are widely known. Prior to founding NorthStar, Robert was the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of InterWorld, a leading enterprise ecommerce software application provider. Robert was one of the early visionaries to recognize the enormous potential of Internet commerce and how it would transform the way business is conducted in the new global economy. As a result, he has been recognized for his leadership in the industry and has received numerous personal and technology awards such as the 1998 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® and Crain's Top 40 under 40 Award. Prior to InterWorld, Robert was the Managing Director of the Cisneros Family Office. In addition, he was an associate at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Investment Banking Division. Robert is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, where he serves on the Committee on Finance and Budget. Robert received his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and BA from University of Vermont.
Collin Cohen
President
Collin is a proven executive and leader, with over two decades of professional experience, including 15 years in financial services. Collin joined NorthStar in 2004 and has built and led the team which has grown the company twelvefold during his tenure. Previously, Collin served as Executive Vice President at Advent Software, the leading provider of investment management solutions for the financial services industry. At Advent, Collin was responsible for a broad set of functional areas and business units, helping grow the company from $50 million to $170 million over four years, while sustaining operating margins exceeding 20%. Prior to Advent, Collin was a principal in the private equity industry and before that, a management consultant at Bain and Company. Collin has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Stanford University.
Bob Skea
Chief Operating Officer, Worldwide Field Operations
Bob has over 20 years experience building and leading worldwide operations for leading technology solutions providers in the financial services market. He most recently ran the U.S.-based Consultative Accounts organization within Reuters America (RAM). This group represented 2,000 U.S.-based clients with annual revenues of $440 million, 40% of RAM's revenue base. In this capacity, he was responsible for all client relationships, revenue growth and maintenance. Prior to this role, Bob spearheaded RAM's buy-side marketing efforts, including all product offerings and operating companies, and ran the Reuters Research sales organization in 2004. Prior to Reuters, Bob was the global head of Sales and Business Development for Multex, a financial information company, the foundation of the current Reuters Knowledge offering. Prior to Multex, Bob spent 15 years at JPMorgan Chase Bank in a variety of strategy, sales and operational roles in the United States and Latin America. Bob hold a BS in marketing from Rutgers University.
Venkataraman Balasubramanian
Vice President of Professional Services
Venkataraman Balasubramanian, also known as Bala, is a senior executive with extensive experience in servicing the needs of financial institutions globally. His general management experience includes three years at Reuters, nine years at IBM and almost 10 years at Citigroup (Shearson Lehman Brothers). He has held P&L responsibility for service businesses as well as global leadership responsibility. He has worked with a number of financial institutions in the U.S. (HSBC, NASDAQ, Citigroup, Chase, and Wells Fargo) in consulting and services roles as well as with a number of banks and financial institutions across Asia Pacific and Northern Europe (UK, France, Germany, and Switzerland). Most recently, Bala was the Senior Vice President, Partners and Global Alliances, at Reuters Americas. In this role, Bala was responsible for defining and implementing the process, programs and expertise to drive partnering and strategic alliances into a core competence within Reuters globally. His team was responsible for enabling access to new markets and new revenue opportunities through over 450 partners globally, including managing globally services partners such as Accenture, IBM, Infosys and Tata. Bala received his BS in mechanical engineering from U.V. College of Engineering in 1980, an MBA in management from Indian Institute of Management (I.I.M.) in Bangalore in 1982, and an MA in project management from George Washington University in 1998.
Bobby Davidorf
Vice President of Finance
Bobby has more than 15 years of diverse experience as an executive, financial manager and entrepreneur. Bobby was formerly with Tribeworks, where he joined as Chief Financial Officer January 2001 and served as a director starting in August 2001. Prior to Tribeworks, he served as General Manager of the San Francisco office for Los Angeles-based ARTISTdirect, where he oversaw the group responsible for the company's digital music distribution efforts. Prior to ARTISTdirect, Bobby co-founded Mjuice.com, an Internet technology company focusing on the secure delivery of MP3 music files, which was later sold to ARTISTdirect. At Mjuice.com, Bobby served as the Chief Financial Officer and was a member of the Board of Directors. Before Mjuice.com, Bobby served as Controller and interim-Chief Financial Officer of Oceania, a healthcare software company, and prior to that was a consultant for the Corporate Finance, Recovery and Disputes division of Price Waterhouse. Bobby holds a BS in economics, magna cum laude, from The University of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Juergen Dittgen
Senior Vice President of Products and Field Services
Juergen is an experienced senior information technology executive with over 14 years of experience leading the global development and production support for the Private Client Service's desktop for Goldman Sachs. During his tenure with Goldman Sachs, Juergen led the design and implementation of the investment management tools, including asset allocation, estate planning, portfolio construction, portfolio management, risk management, investment catalog and investment reviews. Juergen was directly involved in business reengineering efforts to optimize Goldman Sachs' Private Client Services workflows that resulted in significant productivity gains for the sales teams. In addition, Juergen worked in Asset Management as the Implementation and Operations Manager of Goldman Sachs' Private Client Portfolio and Investment Strategy Group. Earlier at Goldman Sachs, Juergen was an Executive Director for International Private Client Service's technology where he was responsible for designing and implementing a scalable infrastructure for reporting, portfolio accounting, performance calculation, order handling and support for custody consolidation. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Juergen worked at Andersen Consulting in the Financial Services group as a senior consultant. Juergen holds MA degrees in business administration and computer science from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
Mark Eaton
Vice President of Engineering
Mark brings 24 years of industry experience designing, developing and implementing mission-critical systems for the financial services and enterprise software markets to NorthStar. Mark's expertise in financial services ranges from program and brokerage trading systems to financial advice applications. Prior to joining NorthStar, Mark led a team at mPower that designed a sophisticated B-to-B architecture providing data integration and single sign-on capability between partner web sites and the mPower financial advice application, streamlining the delivery of services to their clients. At Iris Financial Engineering and Systems, Mark led a team that developed a program trading system that handled in excess of £1,000,000,000 in daily trade volume, allowing a dramatic increase in profitability for the program trading unit of a major investment bank. At Advent Software, Mark led a team that designed and developed a brokerage trade order management supporting multicurrency, fixed income, and mutual fund instruments as well as enhanced equity trading functionality such as omnibus trading. The product tripled its market share within one quarter of its release, with a commensurate increase in corporate revenue. Mark holds three degrees in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, including a PhD in elementary particle physics.
Vicki Morris
Vice President of Marketing
Vicki is a seasoned enterprise software and financial services marketing executive, with more than 18 years experience. She has helped several companies acquire, define, launch and build new and profitable product lines and establish known brands in key markets such as financial services. Prior to NorthStar, Vicki was the Vice President of Marketing at Saba Software, where she helped the company grow revenues from $34 million to $100 million (run rate) through acquisitions and global marketing initiatives. Prior to Saba, Vicki was a marketing executive at PeopleSoft, where she led global launches and a major brand initiative called the Total Ownership Experience, which increased revenue significantly and is still used by Oracle today as a main differentiation for all PeopleSoft product lines. Prior to PeopleSoft, Vicki founded a marketing consulting business, which enabled Intuit to sell vertical editions of QuickBooks to specific small business industry sectors. Previously, Vicki managed the Java product line at Sun Microsystems, where she received the President's Award for best contribution to the overall company. Vicki started her software marketing career at Oracle Corporation, where she was instrumental in launching the Oracle*Industries initiative. Vicki received her MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS from Georgetown University.
