Working for one of New York City’s largest real estate developers, NorthStar completed the removal of the former Pennsylvania Hotel, across Seventh Avenue from the entrance to Madison Square Garden, in midtown Manhattan.
The work at this site included asbestos abatement and environmental remediation within the interior of this robust, turn of the century steel and masonry hotel spanning over 1,400,000 square feet and over 2,000 rooms, Extensive planning and coordination was essential including the installation of a personnel and material construction hoist, within the footprint of the building, as well as several drive through openings allowing for truck access and waste loading within the facility, throughout the duration of the project.
