John Leonard, joined NorthStar in 1987 and has been Chief Operating Officer of NorthStar since 2003.
Leonard oversees all of the branch offices and works directly with regional and branch managers to ensure that proper estimating procedures are utilized for all projects nationwide and for the safety, schedule and successful performance of every job. He is also responsible for maintaining the company’s standards and procedures regarding Client service across the company. Leonard is directly responsible for major projects for national clients and leads the NorthStar emergency response team in the pre-planning and implementation of responses throughout the U.S. He holds NorthStar’s contractor licenses in Hawaii, California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona.
Leonard joined NorthStar in 1987 as a member of the special projects division and later joined the company’s New York metropolitan operation as an estimator. He was promoted to vice president and branch manager in 1992 and president of the New York/New Jersey office in 1993. Leonard also served seven years as regional manager of the western United States where he had oversight of eight branches. Prior to joining NorthStar, Leonard served in the management trainee program of a national construction company.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and management information systems from Syracuse University.
